Butter is Butter and the taste of melting butter on a warm crispy toast is completely out of this world. When I was pregnant with my daughter all I craved was buttered toast and that’s all I would eat for breakfast. But after my delivery I had to make some serious changes. I was 120 kgs and could not continue walking down that road. So I started my fitness journey and the first thing I did was getting on to a strict diet. Over the years I started incorporating healthy dishes into my routine and the Apple Cinnamon Butter is one of them. I believe that even if you’re on a diet why should you miss out on the good stuff. This dish was created to replace butter and create a healthy breakfast and snack option for myself; in this process my daughter also started enjoying the apple cinnamon butter. 
The recipe is very simple and easy to make all you need to do is puree your favourite fruit and cook it over medium heat ensuring all the moisture is evaporated. Beet Bircher Muesli

Description

Bircher Muesli is a scrumptious (and extremely easy) breakfast recipe. Essentially you mix together a few simple ingredients and soak them overnight to create a soft, nutritious breakfast. Traditionally it’s rolled oats, dried fruit & nuts and grated apple with fruit juice or yoghurt.


Ingredients

30 gms Oats

60 gms Beetroot juice

55 gms Apples (grated)

10 gms Raisins

80 gms Yogurt

10 gms Honey

5 gms Almonds (chopped)

1 pinch Cinnamon powder

Toppings of your choice


Instructions

Method:

  • Soak the oats, raisins and beetroot juice over night or an hour before consuming.
  • Mix in the grated apples, cinnamon powder, yogurt, honey and almonds just before consuming.
  • Top the beet Bircher muesli with your favorite toppings.
  • I have added cranberries, apricots, almonds, flax seeds and a dollop of yogurt.
